While city ordinances require that dogs be leashed when in public, Milwaukee residents expressed an uptick in encountering unleashed dogs in shared spaces. The goal was to give dog owners a warm nudge to practice responsible pet ownership by leashing their dogs at all times. Using recognizable “walk” signs as the base, lighthearted #LeashUp reminder signage was installed in grassy and dog-friendly hot spots.
